The ISEE SNRN hosts the 2nd Annual ISEE Science Slam


Tired of presenting your exciting scientific research as a conventional oral or poster presentation? Want to present your research in a cool, new and engaging way at the 2017 ISEE conference in Sydney, Australia? Then join us at our 2nd Annual ISEE SNRN Science Slam contest!


What is a Science Slam?

A Science Slam is a new way of communicating your scientific research in an entertaining, creative and engaging way. The format of the presentation is totally up to the presenter!

Who Can Apply?

All those attending ISEE 2017 are welcome to apply.

How Can I Apply?

Send a short abstract of your proposed presentation to isee.snrn@gmail.com before 11.59pm 21 July 2017 EST (UTC-5) with the subject ‘Science Slam’. The abstract should include the following:

  • Title
  • List of authors and presenters (maximum of two presenters allowed on stage at once)
  • The scientific topic of your presentation
  • Presentation medium (singing, dancing, rhyming – there are no limitations!)
  • A brief overview of your proposed slam presentation

You can submit a written (maximum of 1 page) or video (maximum of 1-2 minutes) abstract.

Successful applicants will be notified by 4 August 2017. The Science Slam will be hosted during the Welcome Reception on 24 September 2017, providing presenters with the unique opportunity to share their research with all conference attendees. The audience will decide by ballot the winner of the 2nd Annual ISEE Best Science Slammer Award!
