Travel Award for ISEE Sydney Conference

A travel award of up to AU $2,500 is available to support attendance and participation in the ISEE 2017 Sydney conference. All are eligible to apply for the travel awards. However, preference will be given to post-graduate students or early career researchers and those from low-middle income countries.

Travel awards will be awarded on a competitive basis. Most awards will be around AU $1,000. The successful applicants may then use the travel award for any purpose they choose, for example, conference registration, travel or accommodation.

The travel award will be provided as pre-loaded VISA cards in Australian dollars. Successful applicants will be able to claim the travel award when they register at the conference desk in Sydney.

Preference will be given to applicants who:

• Are post-graduate students or early career researchers ($lt; 5 years post doctorate).
• Are from low-middle income countries (LMICs). A list of LMICs is available. here
• Are able to attend the full conference.
• Have a conference abstract based on their research accepted for presentation.
• Are the first author and the presenter of the paper.
• Are willing to make a contribution to the media if requested.
• Have had limited, or no, opportunities to attend similar international conferences.

• A CV (maximum 2 pages).
  
• A supporting letter from the applicant’s research supervisor (if a post-graduate student or early career researcher) that includes a statement indicating that the applicant meets the above criteria.

Please also state in your CV any career disruption (for example, illness, parental leave, working part-time) that may have impacted on your research or professional output.
